18 Bingeable Series to Watch This Winter As We Continue Social Distancing

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we certainly didn’t expect to still be social distancing in the fall. But as the weather turns colder in the northern half of the U.S., millions of people around the world are continuing to spend more time inside. If your family's sticking close to home this season, here are some of 2020’s most bingeable series to stream.
What to Watch on Netflix
Whether you like drama, comedy, action or something more eclectic, Netflix has it all.
The Great Heist
Do you like action? Then "The Great Heist" is a great new series to start. It’s based on true events from 1994 about thieves who plan to steal millions of dollars from Colombia’s Bank of the Republic. It’s a limited series with six episodes in the first season, meaning you should be able to finish this one fairly quickly.
Biohackers
Move over "Grey’s Anatomy," there’s a new medical TV drama. In "Biohackers," a med school student starts at a German University on a secret mission to uncover a conspiracy that links a family tragedy to a visionary Biology professor.
Million Dollar Beach House
If you like reality tv shows and real estate, then "Million Dollar Beach House" is for you. This series is filled with drama as young and competitive real estate agents try to sell luxury house listings in the Hamptons.
Away
The team that created "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood," brings you "Away." This show stars Hilary Swank as an astronaut who takes an international crew to space on a dangerous mission to Mars. This is bound to be a tear-jerker as you follow along on the journey as she leaves her daughter and husband behind to lead the team through space.
The Haunting of Bly Manor
Did "The Haunting of Hill House" scare you? The next iteration of this anthology series takes on classic gothic novel The Turn of the Screw. Some original cast members from "The Haunting of Hill House" will be playing new roles in this upcoming release.

Hulu has plenty of older classics streaming along with a few new finds.
The Last Man on Earth
"The Last Man on Earth" is eerily similar to the pandemic we’re currently living in. Starring Will Forte, this is a post-apocalyptic comedy set to begin in the year 2020 after a deadly virus has swept the earth leaving just one man behind. However, as he journeys to cities all over Mexico, the United States and Canada, he eventually finds his way back to his hometown of Tucson, AZ, in hopes that he’ll find anyone else who may have survived.
Atlanta
Starring Donald Glover, follow along as young rappers try to make their way and shape a career in Atlanta. The main character, Earn (played by Glover) struggles to provide for his child, and when he learns that his cousin is making his way as a rapper, he becomes his manager.
Better Things
Follow struggling actress, Sam Fox, as she tries to navigate her career while also raising her three daughters. It’s a dark comedy that dives deep into the world of parenting, especially as the main character attempts to juggle having fun with her everyday responsibilities.
Arrested Development
Even though this show was originally canceled in 2006, it gathered quite the cult following and still holds up 14 years later. Jason Bateman stars as a member of the wealthy yet dysfunctional Bluth family, as he tries to help his family following his father’s arrest for white-collar crime.
Parks and Recreation
"Parks and Recreation" is an oldie but a goodie. If you like "The Office," then this is definitely a binge-worthy series for you. Follow along with the employees in the Parks & Recreation Department in Pawnee, IN. This includes an all-star cast with Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt, Rob Lowe, Rashida Jones and many others.

The Third Day
Starring Jude Law and Naomie Harris, this miniseries only has six episodes and is divided into two parts: Summer and Winter. In the summer, the character played by Jude Law visits an island and appears to be stranded there. In the winter, Naomie Harris’ character finds the island and a battle ensues.
The Undoing
This is another miniseries with only six episodes. "The Undoing" follows a Manhattan power couple, played by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. It is based on the novel, You Should Have Known, and shows what happens after a violent death and a chain of awful revelations that comes after. It’s likely to be a thriller and one that doesn’t take long to get through.
We Are Who We Are
"We Are Who We Are" is an eight-part miniseries focused on two 14-year old Americans who live on an American military base in Italy with their parents. It’s mainly a teen drama that follows friendships and confusion during this time. Actor and musician, Kid Cudi will make an appearance in the series.
Perry Mason
The original "Perry Mason" came out in 1957, and it will be brought back to life in an HBO series. It will be set in 1932 about the defense lawyer in the courtroom drama. Matthew Rhys plays Perry Mason and will also show John Lithgow as his private investigator.

Bosch
This series is based on Michael Connelly’s series of novels about a Los Angeles homicide detective, Harry Bosch, played by Titus Welliver. Season one deals with a trial about a serial killer when a case about a missing boy from the past comes back up.
Upload
Set in 2033, citizens who are near-death have the ability to be “uploaded” to a virtual afterlife of their choice. The show opens on main character, Nathan, crashing in his self-driving car before his girlfriend chooses to have him uploaded. He befriends Nora, a customer service representative and develops a strong friendship with her.
Jack Ryan
Jim from The Office (John Krasinski) has taken on a completely different role in "Jack Ryan." Based on Tom Clancy’s books, Jack Ryan is a CIA agent who gets called into international threats on a regular basis. It is entering its third season this fall.
Homecoming
Julia Roberts stars in this Amazon original, that dives into government programs with characters that don’t seem exactly trustworthy. Season one starts with a facility that appears to help soldiers transition easier to civilian life, but the viewer soon discovers all may not be as it seems.
In season two, a character played by Janelle Monae wakes up disoriented in the middle of nowhere - seemingly involved with the same organization as season one.
That should be enough to get you through the fall. Like much of 2020, we don’t know what the coming months are going to look like, but these shows will definitely help anyone pass the time.
